Presentation: As a print and also as a projection.

"Moth 2"  ©jenny meehan 2006

Presentation: As a print and also as a projection.

I have many images which suggests the transitory nature of human existence.

"Epic"  ©jenny meehan 2007

Photographic print on metallic paper

Also  presented as a projection of a fairly large scale.

I took a small section of  the "Uncomfortable" sculpture to make this image.

I like a sense of both stillness and energy/activity in an image.   The dark borders accentuate the light, and along with the presentation as a projection, this would strengthen the idea of a moving image which is now still. The scratched surface of the metal is accentuated, suggestion erosion.  This is very much a creation image; my idea of the biblical notion of creation,  but also alluding to the creation of the sculpture it is sourced from.  The fire, the process of annealing the copper; the sparks and the colours of the flame when heating the metal; all these things.

"Catch" ©jenny meehan 2007  12x8 inches photographic print.

The image is from the sculpture "Articulation". The translation from sculptural form to print interests me. Its hard to see on this size image, but a small bird stands on the cat's head. Motion and stillness combined. Form and flatness.

"Mourning" ©jenny meehan 2007  A4 photographic print

This is based on some scrunched up paper.  It has some colour fringing which I find  attractive.  It is something that in an ordinary photograph is very annoying, but in this case it is just what I want. It's related to one of my poems and also visually to "Catch".

"Pretty Angry" 2006 ©jenny meehan

10x8 archival quality photographic print

As ever, interested in that point where surface and inner meet.
